How it works

  1. Drop in a video or audio file — MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3, WAV, or M4A.
  2. Drag the two handles on the waveform to set your in and out points.
  3. Preview the selection, then export it as an MP3 clip or a looping GIF.

Why trim in the browser instead of uploading?

CLIPD decodes and encodes your file locally using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The file is read into your browser's memory and never sent to a server, so there's no upload wait, no file size limit imposed by a backend, and nothing to worry about privacy-wise.

FAQ

Is there a file size limit?

No hard limit is enforced, but very large files take longer to decode and may use significant memory on lower-end phones.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for and no data is stored on a server.

Can I use this offline?

Yes — once you've loaded CLIPD once, it installs as an app and works without an internet connection.
